It can be tough dealing with your smile when it has seen better days. Whether your smile is stained or has chips and cracks, these all interfere with your self-confidence and how you present yourself to others. Even if you are trying to get your smile fixed, it can still take time, and in the meantime, you have to suffer with a less-than-perfect smile. What if there was a way to make your smile look like a great smile, even if it wasn’t? Even if you were still having work done? You get that when you come to Sunset Valley Dental in Woodstock, VT, and ask us about veneers. Veneers are a special covering that can be placed over the front of your teeth to hide damage and discoloration while your smile is worked on or to present a better smile to the public.

You even have a couple of different options when it comes to veneers, depending on your personal preferences, so if you’re looking for something that will last a while or something a little less permanent, our dentists at Sunset Valley Dental right here in Woodstock, VT, have you covered.

How Does Getting Veneers Work?

Veneers are placed over your teeth, similar to how sealants are used. The main difference is that veneers go over the front of the teeth and are designed to hide flaws and discoloration. The dentist may need to create a mold and file your teeth to fit the veneers over your existing teeth. The dentist will use a special adhesive and place the veneers over the existing teeth. The veneer is molded and tinted to look like natural teeth so that no one can even tell you are wearing it.

The one downside to veneers is that they can damage your existing tooth enamel if you try to have them removed. It is best to let them wear off naturally over time and work to correct your teeth with dental treatments.
